Late night ramblings

I think I need therapy.
Let me explain.
I used to have this friend. Her name is Liyana.I mean, she is my friend.still is.Problem is she moved to Dublin freakin Ireland to pursue her studies in medicine. And so now, I am left without a friend who is not judgmental and clearly bright as hell.C'mon you know I'm not saying that all my friends are stupid or judgemental.
It's just that she has this clear third person view of my life and every advice she gives is just so dead on.(Shout out to my girl Liyana if you're reading this!!imy.wait, I think ur in UK now)You know what I mean?I mean, do you guys have a friend who's like that?
I think I need to hear something honest and true and pure from somebody i trust. It's been so long that I've heard something like that from somebody.
Anyway what I am trying to make clear is that, I need somebody to tell me that I am sane and not going psycho after all the crazy decisions I have made in '09 and '10.And boy, have I made some crazy ass decisions.Looking back I do have regrets, I mean I would be lying if I said I didn't but let me just say, the girl that I am leaving behind soon, the '09 and '10 Athena, she is one stupid, brave and crazy chick.Stupid.but brave.
Back to the question,Why do I need somebody to tell me that I am sane you ask?
Well it is a known fact that we crave for everybody's approval and attention.Don't deny it!and I think I need that and I am not afraid to admit it because, I know to what extent I need their approval.I don't let it run my life, like so many of girls do.I just need this certain approval to clarify that I am not going crazy.Simple as that.
And the million dollar question is, Why do I think I am going crazy?
ahh..where should I start?
You would be surprised how many buried, chopped up and murdered skeletons I have stashed in my closet.Yes, yes, everybody I do have a lot of secrets. They are called secrets for a reason. But when one small, forgotten skeleton crawls out of the closet, you'd be surprised how it can just turn your life upside down.
Oh.
Drama.
Can you just leave me when I get to 2011?
(I'm referring to drama that is.)

Alanis Morissette - Uninvited

Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepherd meet shepherd
But you you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing
You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before
But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight

I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate.

I am compelled by the lyrics.

Chitty Chatt

hey guys,
how is everybody doing this holiday season?xmas is around the corner and new year too!I am excited for the new year.wish i was back in england..wouldn't mind a few presents, mind you!
before anything..i have recently discovered a few awesome blogs that I think every girl should check out.Esp this one blogger. Her name is Maria Elena and she is, I think cousins with Hunnymadu frm Fly.fm and shes super cool and funny.Check her out and her youtube channel called 'We Say Well'. Personally, I just think she's an inspiration to all teenage girls who wear hijabs. I know I'm struggling with that! But enough about me.Check her out and along with some of her awesome friends!

On another, random note, I am making a mental list of more things that I need to ring back for my apartment.I think a vacuum cleaner is most important!Honestly, living with four girls, you'll find hair everywhere. Can't complain. Most of them are mine ;)

boys,guys,men

BOYS.I don't understand why they don't get us girls. We are complicated in such a simple way.It does't take a genius.

If only guys like this guy existed in Malaysia..(sigh)

(more sighing..)

I mean, I would take any guy in 90210.Any guy.

Let's face it. I see beautiful, gorgeous Malaysian girls EVERYWHERE nowadays.I mean (speaking for the beautiful girls NOT me of course) we have really stepped it up a few damn notches. And yet I do not see any drop dead gorgeous guys. Seriously, do I really need to move to another country to find one?

Oh Matt Lanter I'll marry you any day of the year.

Do not hate me because I can't cook!

People around me know and yes I do not hide it, but I am in fact terrible in the kitchen. I do not loathe cooking, it's just that I am not good at it.I mean, who doesn't hate something they are not good at.But anyhow, this is my 1st attempt in my 20years of life, of making mashed potatoes. Turned out okay I guess. My parents gave me a 7/10.

BOO!

Hellooo dearies! I am in the best of moods today and I will tell you why!
I just got back from KL/Shah Alam.Went there for a couple of days to makeover my room in the new apartment i moved in end of last semester.I am now living with 3 of my new roomies, one of them has a blog which is super cool.Check her out later.
Anyway, went to IKEA with the parents aka my source of $$$ and got my self a cool bed, a proper desk so that now I have no reason whatsoever to not get the ever coveted DEANS LIST next sem. Rearranged my room and shelf and now it looks fantastical! But darn the walls of my apartment I don't know what it's made out of, (I should since i've been taking Building for the last 4 sems) the walls were too hard/thick! My poor daddy couldn't drill through them so I did not get to hang my colorful built-in shelves and mirrors :( (fyi I was going for the red and white theme). But I guess i'm grateful anyway since now it looks a whole lot better and bigger! I can't wait to do some studying on my new desk (wait did I just say that?). Only when you become a college student will you know how crucial a good study desk is! I should have taken pictures, and again I forgot! Guess I'll post them when I get back to Shah Alam on the 30th.
Oh! and I bought new booties! Finally got them! They are Charles and Keith and very the sexayyh! Nows all I need is that one shoulder dress I saw at Guess for a great New Year party which I still do not have plans yet, but hopefully will. This new year is tres important to me okay! New beginning and all that shit.
So after a brief family dinner with the cousins at my aunty's house I am now safe at home. Today however, I did not get to rest since I had to send my sister to Penang for her after SPM party.Back and forth, driving for 5hours straight.Penat wooO!
Tomorrow I gather I'll be seeing the bestie since she is coming here for field work.Until then, this is me exhausted, hungry and sakit pinggang after 2hours sleep straight back from Penang.

Getting excited over little things is good for your health

Hello crazy people!
So.I think it best that I take the sour and sad note from my previous post and turn it around. I mean who needs another emo and lame blog eh?So 2007!
Anyway. Last year, for my mum's birthday I bought her this Estee Lauder make up kit.I bought it from a friend for $300 but I'm sure it costs much less.Much to my disappointment OR not..haha..my mum doesn't use it much. She only used the 2 lipsticks. But anyhow, since she is not using it nor will she be doing so in the near future I took it off her hands.I know I know buruk siku.
But I know my mum well enough to know she really doesn't mind. So, thought I'd show you how it looks like.

ta-daa!

This is what it looks like from the outside.Shiny red!Did you know the color red in theater is supposed to conjure positive energy. How do I know? Heard it on High School Musical because all I do is stay at home and watch tv.Im a couch potato! or is it potay-do! (Im lame that way)
....moving on.....

That is what it looks like after I took out the plastic thingy and placed all my makeup stuffs inside. anyway this is what it looks like before..look down
This is how it is originally.Isn't it fantastical?!

Look, look! The thing I like most about this kit is that it has this bronze/blusher pallet(okay I don't know what it's called so bare with me).I like it cause I tried the bronzer thingy and it really catches the light makes you look like you have high cheekbones, although in my case, my face is round as a ball y'all! You can see it's def doing something right.Theres brushes too!And I love the mascara because there are no lumps, its so easy to wear, and then you've got your eye shadow pallets.I should have taken a picture but I totally forgot.Although the colors are 'old and out of season' they can still be worn if you now when and how to mix and match! And there's the lipsticks and your custom eyeliners in 3 different colors black, grey and brown(I use the brown as my eyebrow liner cause its really good that way). and also, last but not least you get the makeup remover which smells just awesome!Everything you need in a shiny red box!

I am just really happy I took this off my mum's hands :)
With my skin, finally sorted out.I mean, Im not saying 'kulitku mcm bontot bayi' (baby's ass!) but it's sorted out! My pimples and zits and white heads and black heads and purple heads and red heads, if there are any, are finally in control people! Hallelujah! Alhamdullillah~
(wanna know how i treated my acne?I think I'll blog about this miracle face wash soon. It's so cheap too.)
Now I'm just all in the mood for make up and dress up!

Oh, and if you want great insights on beauty and fashion and how to makeup, go to JlovesMac1's blog. It's on the left hand side.Click there. She has a you tube page and she's damn funny!

Toodles for now~

Relationships

Why do people have to feel heartaches? To make us stronger.

I know more than anything what I want in life now and I will not let anyone get in my way.

I'm a selfish bitch but If I don't think of me who will?

I am not trying to justify what I did but I know this time I did something right.

A relationship to me is supposed to;
Bring out the best in YOU and not restrict you in any way
Be a relaxed, calm and fulfilling life experience
Have no fear.

Next time, when I am ready to be in a relationship(2-3 years from now), I shall look back on this post and make sure it fits all 3 criteria.

It's all about growing up and thinking straight, but I will miss the laughter, the silliness, the trips, the pampering and of course you.

Is it just me?

Do you know how hard it is to do side braids?!!
I don't know if it's just me, but even though they look easy to do on the web it's kind of tricky! And where the hell is my moody-over sensitive-hormonal sister? Cepat la habis SPM.

Look at you flashing your dazzling white teeth.Don't impress me much.Na-ah..

(this is exceptionally hard to do)
Don't you give me that face Lauren! I am coordinated enough to do my own braids just not the ones that are neat, on the side of your head and look like yours.I'll need an extra pair of hands and i'm not afraid to admit it.

Imagine this

So today I am going to blog about this 7 year old girl who has schizophrenia because back when I was in high school, I was determined to become a psychologist. Yes, you know the doctor who treats/talk to cuckoo people. That idea stuck with me until pre-uni. I was, at that time, oblivious to the fact that it was nearly impossible for me to become one because I had to be extremely good in my Science subjects.Undergo the whole Medic course. That was a big hell-NO for me. 5-10 years of your life bound to 3-5 inch books.Na-ah!
But anyway, this story about Jani, I thought I'd just give my 2cents about it.
Basically Jani is a 7 year old girl who has Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental illness that usually happens to adult and rarely if non at all happen to children. If you are a schizophrenic, you'd be having hallucinations and dementia. You would see something that isn't there and believe that it is.You would be thinking that someone or something is out to get you and you;d have to obliged to every single word that something/someone says for you to do or ELSE you would get hurt. Schizophrenia is very harmful to others as schizophrenics tend to get violent.and there is no cure.Just heavy medication or sedation to control the patient.
Jani's parents said in Oprah's interview that Jani was special since she was a baby. She would only sleep 3-4hours a day.As Jani started growing up, she would have imaginary friends.Imaginary friends that told her to do bad stuff!Like hit your baby brother or commit suicide(in Jani's case). And she's only 7! anyway her sick imaginary friends stay with her until today. And I just can't imagine what it is like, to be separated from you brother, to have one parent constantly by your side to make sure you don't do anything dangerous and to not go to school like other children do. A normal life growing up, I think is most important for every child. It will define who you are when you grow up.
Reading this article has definitely proved to me that I am not cut out to be a freakin psychologist! And thank god at that! I think, in the end if I were to become a shrink, I'd be the loony one.
If you want to read more about Jani, head over to Oprah's page.In the mean time here are a few pictures of her.

O is for Oprah

So guess what I did just now?
Remember my previous blog about how I was unsatisfied with my life and what I'm doing now?Well I really wasn't kidding, I do want a change, something different, something new...SOMETHING. and I know what I'm good at and what I can do.It's just a matter of courage and timing. So I went over to Oprah's page. For those of you who do not know who Oprah is, you can open a new tab and google her name. Pip pip! And I read this awesome article about this 7 year old Schizo which I will blog about later on.Anyway I decided to email Oprah. Why not eh?It is her last season and the chance of her reading my email is 1 to a million so I did it.I sent her an email regarding how much she has inspired me and about some other stuffs too.Doing that, I am surprised to feel positive, relief even at the fact that I actually had the courage to do it.I was beginning to feel as though I had none at all these days. Shortly afterwards, I signed up to become a member of Oprah's website. For every member, you have to customize your own profile, the same thing like Facebook..etc..but with Oprah now, I have to create my very own O Dream Board. Basically, it's a board that I will have to create to envision my best life.So as to make sure I have my goals ad target clear and I am committed to achieving them. I haven't even started my O Dream Board as there is so much more things I have to sort out in my head. I don't even know where to begin. But just for the record, I know this is worth blogging for.

Obsessed

I might be the last person on earth to have watched Supernatural but after being convinced by my boyfriend that this was a great watch, i succumbed and gathered all 5 seasons. And now, obviously i am hooked. I don't know whether it's because of Jared Padalecki's tight abs or Jensen Ackles' smoldering eyes but had the producers chosen any other actors, i would be sure that I wouldn't be able to digest albeit believe the whole 'God has disappeared, bad angels, good demons, fairies and wishing well' bullshit.BUT because of these two actors I am inclined, along with a million other people,to believe the storyline. Easy how the mind can be distracted and confused eh?
ANYWAY, some candy for the eyes gals?
:)
.........................................................................................

Funny, but I couldn't find any good pictures of Jared with his shirt on.hmm..

Daisies or Lilies? Neither.

A makeover can achieve a lot i gather.
Thus the change :)
My writing skills really does need to be sharpened. My grammar also.
One of my regret in life is that I listened to my parents. It wasn't their fault.I am confident they wanted me to succeed in the only way they saw. I think people my age have parents that want their children to go after 'their' dream of being a lawyer or an accountant or the one everyone loves the most to become, say it with me everybody, a DOCTOR. yes, well we should seriously stop thinking one way.stop thinking that everything has to be done according to the rules. It seriously shouldn't. Our ambitions can come from all directions.Regardless of whether our future jobs really make money or not, if we love what we do we wouldn't have to work a day of our messed up life.If we're good at it because we love it so much the finances will come rolling in soon enough.trust me.
ANYWAY, before my rambling goes on any further i only wanted to point out that i wish i had enrolled myself in some kind of a writing class or workshop. writing and creating things from my mind is the only decent thing i can do nowadays. I am confident that what I need is some guidance and advice from professionals.
This thought has crossed my mind several times throughout the semester holidays as i look back at all my stories and novellas i had written since i was 13 years old.all stashed in my hard drive.Only a few selected(unlucky) friends have read them.oh well.
I should be grateful.I am pursuing my degree in Estate Management. However so, I cannot put aside this lingering doubt at the back of my head telling me to drop this course all together (even if it saves me a lot of time) and get a degree in writing!
........................
As if i can even begin to tell my parents that.
I best suck it up and get through another 1 and half year of this degree.
